Come out and enjoy this FREE community event you wouldn't want to miss on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11am to 4pm. Bring your family and enjoy face painting, shop from various vendors, raffles, and music from DJ Lai-Lo plus more fun activities. You will also have the opportunity to participate in Soca cardio lead by Bianca Sneed, Owner of Recreate You Wellness Boutique.

IIG Partners Foundation has partnered with Kidz Rezort of Annapolis and Prince George’s County Literacy Council to provide over 5000 books to youth and their families in Prince George's County. With this school year being one of the most unconventional, research suggests students are likely to return having lost about a third of their literacy progress during the extended time away from school. Fortunately, providing families with books can make a difference! Reading for just 20 minutes a day exposes the reader to 1.8 million words a year.

We will provide FREE gift bags for the first 300 registrants in attendance filled with an age-appropriate book and school supplies.

Our objective is for every child to have the best learning opportunity possible, starting with making sure they have the necessary tools they need to be successful in the classroom. This is often impossible for many families whose budgets are already stretched too thin. The Back 2 School Bash will provide students in our community with the supplies they need to succeed in school this year.

We’re hoping to be provide each child in K-12 grade in our community that attends a backpack and school supplies again this year.

James Isreal is hosting the 2nd Annual Back 2 School Cookout & Haircuts events to benefit not only my students at Hart Middle School but the surrounding DCPS schools in the community, who are starting school on August 26th.

One of the major intentions for the event is to provide families with another opportunity to enroll their children prior to the first day of school. Please bring proofs of residency and or complete the reenrollment application.  Please bring two proofs of residency to include driver's license/ID, lease, pay stub, utilty bill, etc.

This event will encompass a back to school cookout, (basic) haircuts and hair do’s, at least 125 giveaways of book bags with school supplies, potentially the Howard Colgate Van along with other health related providers, and there may be colleges and military personnel participating as well.  There should be anywhere from 7-10 barbers and 5-7 beauticans on site.

This is a collaboration Campus2Careers, Baltimore Barbers and Beauty School, the Mu Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Washington Teacher's Union, Hart's Community In Schools, Ballou, the Ward 8 Education Council, the Stafford Foundation, my family, community constituents, and the schools who receive students from the Ward 8 community.
